Awkwafina

Awkwafina is an American performer and actress. She started by releasing humorous, cleverly written rap songs that addressed questions of racial identity as well as sexual orientation. Then she expanded her fan base to Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical path as a trumpeter. Born in Forest Hills Queens, she was the child of Chinese immigrants and Korean immigrants. She also received classical and jazz training later becoming a hip-hop teenager. While in college, she focused on her studies, and then majored both in women's study as well as journalism. While she was for a brief amount during her time in Beijing, Mandarin language classes were offered as well. The focus changed to music only after she completed her degree. In 2012, My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured on her debut album Yellow Ranger. It also included viral hits, such as body positive Queef and a wink-y home tour NYC Bitche$1. The single that debuted was directly connected to Awkwafinas NYC, her travel guide for 2015. In addition to being a published author and a singer, she was also a professional as a singer. She has appeared in films like Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In the year 2018, she was offered several major roles like Dude Ocean's 8, or Crazy Rich Asians. She released the EP, In Fina We Trust in June in the same year.
