Kristen Anne Bell (born 1980) is a popular American actor and singer. Parents include Tom Bell and Lorelei Frygier who are both news director on television. Her family was born in Huntington Woods Michigan. The mother of Kristen is Polish and her father German, English Irish and Scottish. Kristen found her talent in the entertainment industry at a young age. She was able to land her first acting role in her audition in Raggedy Ann & Andy. Bell's mom enrolled her with an agency before her 13th birthday. She then appeared in television advertisements and newspaper ads. In the same year, she also began training in private acting. Bell was on the screen in Polish Wedding (2000) in 1998 in a role that was not credited to her. Bell was a student at Shrine Catholic High School and was part of music and drama clubs. Bell was chosen to play the lead role of Dorothy in the school's play The Wizard of Oz. Bell later moved to New York City, to the Tisch School of the Arts. She was a musical theatre student there. Bell quit university in 2001 and began playing the role Becky of Tom Sawyer. In 2001, Bell made her debut on the credit screen playing the character of Becky Pootie Tang. But the scene she played was removed from the film and she only appears as a credit. Bell made an appearance with Angela Bettis and Liam Neeson in 2002's Broadway revival of The Crucible.
