Alves were born Rodrigo Alves on 30 July 1983 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, to the parents of a Brazilian mother and her British father. Roserval Alves (her father) was born in Portugal. Alves came to Brazil in 1944. The family initially focused on farming but later expanded their business responsibilities into supermarkets, shopping centres and real estate. 5 When she was young, her grandfather bought their Barbie dolls. Alves was born male nevertheless, she thought she must be female since her age of "three, four, five or six". Also, she played with dolls, cross-dressed as well as enjoyed having fun with them. [6][7] Her belief is that gender does not define individuals. When she was younger, she was shy and bullied. In her teen years, Alves had a hormone malfunction, and high levels of estrogen which led to breast tissue to grow. her other features were also taken advantage of by bullies. Alves is the daughter of a family who owns numerous Brazilian food stores, and has made them wealthy. However, Alves is yet to make any profits related to these stores as of 2018. 10. Alves made the move to London at age 18, and studied public relations at London College of Communication. The money she has comes via an inheritance left by her maternal grandmother.
